Turf war 101 — how to hold the corners and win more matches

A practical guide to Hood Warfare's 4v4 turf mode: capture zones, rep and call-ins, loadouts, and the habits that win matches.

Turf war is the heart of Hood Warfare: two crews of four, three corners, one clock. Here's how to play it like you've been on the block for years.

Know the three corners

The map has three capture zones — A: the Yard, B: the Junction and C: the Loading Dock. Stand in a zone to flip it; hold it and the other crew bleeds points. You don't need all three. Two held corners beat one heroic push almost every time.

Rep is money mid-fight

Kills, captures and wins stack rep during the match. Spend it on call-ins:

  • Snitch — every enemy lights up on your crew's map. Use it right before a push.
  • Homies — AI backup rolls onto your corner. Great for holding a zone while you rotate.
  • Drive-by — a car rolls through the enemy block. Call it when they're stacked on a corner.

Build a loadout for your role

Rifles like the Block AK and M4 Carbine hold long sightlines across the Junction. Shotguns own doorways and interiors. Pair a rifle with taped mags for faster reloads, or go drum if you're the one locking down a corner. Light armor costs no speed; heavy armor soaks more but slows you down.

Habits that win

  1. Move as a pair — trading kills wins fights.
  2. Don't chase into their spawn; play the corner.
  3. Grab the RPG from the roof stash only when your crew can cover you — everyone sees the carrier on radar.
  4. Use the free grenade you get every life.
